PAD REPORT, Spring '23 : ‘AN UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF MENSTRUAL PRODUCT ACCESSIBILITY ON BRANDEIS CAMPUS’

Spring 2023, PAD and the Brandeis Student Union implemented a Pilot Program to provide complementary pads and tampons in all first-year residence halls (in North Quad, Massell Quad, and East Quad). In order to determine the impact of this Pilot Program and gauge how the needs of menstruators on campus might have changed in the last year, PAD designed another survey similar to the one conducted in Fall 2021.

The responses gathered in this 2023 survey clearly demonstrate that the Pilot Program has increased security in the access to and availability of menstrual products for residents of the three aforementioned first-year quads. It also unequivocally demonstrates the necessity of the attention of the Brandeis administration and their support, specifically regarding absorbing the cost of the Pilot Program and enabling student leaders to continue to work to expand the program to eventually provide complementary products in all bathrooms, regardless of gender, across Brandeis' campus.
